Journal – Fantasy Madness #1 - August 12th, 2011
I finally did it. I logged onto www.fantasyfootballcalculator.com and as I sit here and write, I have 3 mock drafts going at once. It is important to test out different drafting strategies to make sure I’m on point when it really matters Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.
I have the #1 pick in my draft with one set of my boys from NC and the #4 pick in another. The #4 pick is in a league that is way different than most. The QB is valued very high and we draft individual defensive players, which adds to the level of obsession watching games. I watch defensive players with almost the same amount of intensity as offensive…counting tackle numbers in my head and hoping for the rare “Pick 6″.
I am pretty much set to take Arian Foster with the #1 pick even though his hammy is a mild concern. I’m worried about Chris Johnson’s holdout and AP’s situation in Minnesota. The pivotal choices in the draft come in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Here is where it gets sticky. Do I take one of the Top 7 QBs (possibly Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Romo at this point) or do I go WR/WR or WR/RB?
Even if I knew what I was going to do, I wouldn’t publish it because it’s very possible that the guys that have the 2nd & 3rd pick will read this and gain a leg up. No chance.
Been rockin’ the Cults album during the drafts. So good…
