DUMP DRUMPF! (Kriss Kross Parody) Release

Hip-Hop Artist JENSEN REED and Comedian BEN GIROUX Trash Trump in New Political Kris Kross Parody Rap: ‘DUMP DRUMPF!’

LOS ANGELES (October 10, 2016) – Gaining over a quarter of a million views on Facebook in just the first few days, indie hip-hop artist JENSEN REED and comedian/actor BEN GIROUX have teamed up again – this time to trash Donald Trump in the new parody music video ‘DUMP DRUMPF!’ (https://youtu.be/1-Zx1UOnHaY).

A riff on the 90’s classic ‘Jump’ by Kris Kross, Reed and Giroux deliver a fierce attack against Donald Trump’s bigoted and hateful rhetoric with their new satirical lyrics based on comedian John Oliver’s recent discovery that Trump’s family name was originally “Drumpf”.

‘DUMP DRUMPF!’ sends a clear message right down to the chorus:

DUMP DRUMPF!
Ignorance will make ya DUMP DRUMPF!
Bigotry will make ya DUMP DRUMPF!
Tiny hands will make ya DUMP DRUMPF!

Jensen shares, “I couldn’t think of a better way to reach out to young voters and help stop the maniac Donald Trump from becoming President than create a parody of one of the classic hip-hop songs from the 90’s!”

Previously, Reed and Giroux collaborated on the wildly popular bad-ass comedy rap ‘Little Dude Anthem,’(https://youtu.be/VaeRfAj7KUM) which garnered over 1-million views on Facebook and has become a rallying war-cry for short guys everywhere. Born out of Giroux’s stand-up comedy act, the duo spent months writing the original hip-hop song and composing the track, before bringing in American Idol star Tamyra Gray to sing the rhythmic choruses.

Reed’s diverse musical abilities span from his latest album ‘The Left Coast’ to his collaborations with YouTube star Taryn Southern to his ridiculous music videos, including the N.W.A. parody ‘Straight Out Da Office.’ His songs have been featured in numerous television shows, including CSI: NY, Showtime’s House Of Lies, Friday Night Lights and several MTV and VH1 shows, as well as the Oscar-nominated Woody Harrelson film The Messenger and director Mark Pellington’s I Melt With You. Reed’s original style, alternative hip-hop with a pop sensibility, is showcased further in the music videos on his YouTube channel http://youtube.com/c/jensenreed

Giroux is recognized by fans for his recurring roles as ‘Little Zach’ on the CW’s popular Hart of Dixie and as ‘The Toddler’ on Nickelodeon’s teen comedy, Henry Danger. In addition, he has appeared in guest roles on dozens of shows, includingNCIS, Bones, House, Psych, Anger Management, 2 Broke Girls, Mighty Med, Sam & Cat and more. Giroux has also gained notoriety for starring-in and producing a variety of popular YouTube projects, creating the FML channel (FMLvideoguys) with cult-favorite “fail” videos, before becoming the executive producer of the FRED YouTube Channel (2.3 million subscribers). Now under his Small Red Cape production banner, Giroux is focused on his producing his own comedy channel http://youtube.com/BenGirouxTV, including his long-running web series, Sh*tty Dates

LITTLE DUDE ANTHEM PREMIERE

LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2015) – New bad-ass comedy rap video and song, LITTLE DUDE ANTHEM, premieres today, October 20th on YouTube (http://youtube.com/BenGirouxTV), delivering a giant-sized call to arms for short guys everywhere. LITTLE DUDE ANTHEM comes from height-challenged actor/creator BEN GIROUX, joined by indie hip-hop artist JENSEN REED, and American Idol star TAMYRA GRAY.

Giroux is fed-up playing elves, leprechauns, and jockeys on television, explaining, “LITTLE DUDE ANTHEM is a rallying cry for all the little dudes, as well as a big middle-finger to the roles I’ve been typecast in.”

Giroux first came up with the concept for LITTLE DUDE ANTHEM five years ago. In order to convert his stand-up comedy act into a rap, Giroux teamed-up with hip-hop artist Jensen Reed, known for his album “The Left Coast” and collaborations with YouTube star Taryn Southern. The duo spent the next six months writing the original song and composing the track.  During this time, Giroux starred in a play with singer Tamyra Gray (American Idol Season One finalist) and immediately knew she was the perfect vocalist for the song’s rhythmic choruses.

For the video, Giroux and Reed called upon a few more friends to help, including: cinematographer Matthew Roe (DP for Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, Moby), actor David Mattey (Better Call Saul), supermodel and Miss Paraguay Nicole Huber, choreographer Morgan Larson (Teen Beach Movie franchise), beat boy Gev Manoukian (So You Think You Can Dance finalist) and dancer Caitlynn Lawson (So You Think You Can Dance finalist).

Currently, fans will recognize Giroux for his recurring roles as ‘Little Zach’ on the CW’s popular Hart of Dixie and as ‘Dark Warrior’ on Disney XD’s teen comedy, Mighty Med. In addition, he has appeared in guest roles on dozens of shows, including Bones, House, Psych, Anger Management, 2 Broke Girls, Henry Danger, Sam & Cat and more. Giroux has also gained notoriety for starring-in and producing a variety of popular YouTube projects, creating the FML channel (FMLvideoguys) with cult-favorite “fail” videos and serving as executive producer of the FRED YouTube Channel (2.3 million subscribers).

Now under his Small Red Cape production banner, Giroux is focused on acting and directing for his own channel http://youtube.com/BenGirouxTV, including his long-running web series, SH*TTY DATES

Giroux and Reed look forward to their next insane collaboration.

Sylvan Esso - Wolf

I was listening to a livecast of the Hangout Fest this past weekend from Gulf Shores, Alabama on Sirius AltNation and heard a few Sylvan Esso songs. I went home and checked out their album on Spotify....the sparse electronic production from Nick Sanborn is awesome and Amelia Meath's voice is interesting and a bit haunting. They also hail from Bull City (Durham), NC. This is one of the standout tracks...so chill - Wolf
